Berks Senior Spotlight: Travis Mauger

Travis Mauger knew from an early age that he wanted to help others. After high school, he joined the Pennsylvania Army National Guard and later became a cadet in the local Reserve Officer Training Corps. His time in the military solidified his goal of serving others, particularly service members. He earned the bachelor's degree in psychology with a minor in history from Penn State Berks in December 2024, and his story is part of the Senior Spotlight series celebrating Berks graduates.

Sydney Bankert’s journey to graduation had some twists and turns. She earned a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology from Penn State Berks on Saturday, Dec. 21, during the college’s commencement ceremony at the Santander Arena in Reading. This spotlight is part of the "Senior Spotlight" series, celebrating Penn State Berks graduates each semester.

Diana Stoltzfus has certainly made the most of her college experience at Penn State Berks, from conducting research on the effects of virtual reality on exercise, to earning a 4.0 GPA, to being a star player on the women’s volleyball team. She will graduate as student marshal during Berks' fall 2024 commencement ceremony, set for 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 21, at the Santander Arena in Reading. The title of her commencement speech is "The Power of Perseverance."

Pa. chief diversity officer Norman Bristol Colón to deliver commencement address

A new class of nearly 120 Penn State Berks students will receive their baccalaureate and associate degrees at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 21, at the Santander Arena in downtown Reading, when Berks hosts its fall 2024 commencement ceremony. Penn State alumnus Norman Bristol Colón, commonwealth chief diversity officer and founder and chairman of the Pennsylvania Latino Convention, will deliver the keynote address.

Aidee Santos Acosta has carved her path during her time on campus. Santos will earn her baccalaureate degree in biology with a concentration in genetics and developmental biology on Saturday, May 4, during the Penn State Berks spring commencement ceremony at the Santander Arena in Reading.

Growing up, going to college was always a dream for Erick Astacio. While it seemed like the dream was out of reach at times, he found a way to succeed. In a few days, he will realize that dream when he crosses the stage to earn his baccalaureate degree in biochemistry and molecular biology with a minor in chemistry, at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 4, during the Penn State Berks spring commencement ceremony at the Santander Arena in Reading.

Daniel George accomplished everything he set out to do at Penn State Berks in terms of academics, leadership and service. He will cross the stage to accept his baccalaureate degree in mechanical engineering, with a minor in mathematics applications, at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 4, during the college’s commencement ceremony at the Santander Arena in Reading.

Alina Rodriguez, a Penn State Berks information technology major with a focus on AI and data analytics and a 4.0 GPA, was selected as this year’s student marshal. She will deliver a speech titled “What’s the Point?” at the college’s commencement ceremony at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 4, at the Santander Arena.

When you meet Rogelio Flores, it’s hard to believe that he once considered dropping out of high school. The Reading High School graduate will cross the stage to earn his baccalaureate degree in electro-mechanical engineering technology, with a minor in entrepreneurship and innovation, at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 4, during the Penn State Berks spring commencement ceremony at the Santander Arena in Reading.
